NEC XON has achieved the highest tier of Symantec enterprise security partner, progressing to Symantec Secure One Platinum Enterprise Security Competency, up from the Gold tier.

This means NEC XON is one of only two enterprise-grade systems integrators in the country to provide this level of service across South Africa.

“NEC XON has reached the pinnacle of our selective, tiered partner programme after being invited to qualify,” says Jon Hamlet, Senior Country Manager of Symantec SA. “They are a strategic partner for Symantec that continues to invest in integrated cyber security. We are closely aligned with NEC XON and look forward to continued success through delivery of best-in-class cyber security solutions and associated services.”

“Symantec is one of the leading global security vendors that provides integrated cyber defences to mitigate traditional and emerging threats, reduce costs, and cut away the complexity that threatens to disrupt efficient administration,” says Mark Harris, chief marketing officer (CMO) at NEC XON. “They’re at the cutting edge of integrating analytics around the technologies but also incorporating the human behaviours, intelligently meshing what is still the primary weakness in any cyber security chain, people. The integration provides adaptive solutions that raise cyber security resiliency to unprecedented heights in an era of unprecedented threats.”

Symantec’s Integrated Cyber Defense Platform is founded on a global threat intelligence network. The company also constantly researches the globe’s continuously evolving security threats and incorporates some of the world’s premiere operational expertise. It focuses its efforts on enhancing security controls, improving visibility, reducing costs, and reducing the complexities associated with increasingly dynamic and borderless physical and virtual networks.

“Symantec customers can now also access the highest security capabilities available in the country from NEC XON,” says Hamlet. “Achieving the highest standard of our security partner programme means they can act with more autonomy based on the skills of their subject matter experts. They can maximise the value Symantec customers get from the highest calibre implementations of the technologies and solutions for integrated cyber defence and securing the cloud.”

“Achieving this status supports one of our core security strengths, which is empowering customers to take proactive steps to improve their cyber security resiliency,” says Harris. “Being proactive is crucial to mitigating the risks and fundamentally relies on intelligent analyses of data from throughout the network and devices to the edge and beyond. The nature of advanced tools integrated through an intelligent platform feeds these resilient capabilities.”
