Role: Security Engineer (Microsoft Security)
Reports To: Service Delivery Manager
Office location: Midrand

Main purpose of the job:

This position will be responsible to ensure that all implementation, management, and monitoring of Microsoft Security Technologies are addressed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implementation and support of Microsoft Security solutions
  • Report possible threats or software issues
  • Understand software, hardware and internet needs while adjusting them according to our business environment
  • Develop best practices and security standards for the organization
  • Test company software, firmware and firewalls
  • Implement and maintain security technologies
  • Support to Clients
  • Technical Support related to Security Technologies
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Monthly SLA reporting
  • Remote support where necessary
  • Standby duties
  • Other tasks and technology support when needed from time to time within reason.

Experience

  • 3 – 5 years’ hands-on technical experience in Cyber Security implementing and supporting security solutions (Preferable Microsoft Security Solutions)
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, C/C++, Python, or JavaScript
  • Knowledgeable in software engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs.
  • Experience with information security concepts such as authentication, access control, and cryptography.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • T. related degree or related qualification from a tertiary institution
  • Security+ Certification
  • ITIL Certification
  • Microsoft 365 Security Administration
  • Microsoft Azure Security Technologies
